GraceNook

A FaceBook Clone

repo: https://github.com/EricSpencer00/fb-clone

GraceNook runs on CloudFlare, which offers free hosting for fullstack sites without a credit card. The project comes out of a systems design class in the Quinlan Business School at Loyola, where the semester long assignment was to create an entire architecture for a product. The system was then built out from that design. Producing a live demo of the site took 3% of a monthly Copilot allowance in Claude Haiku usage, with the design specification serving as one large prompt.

The target was Facebook's specifications, rebuilt in a realistic way: liking posts, commenting on other people's photos, and direct messages between friends. Ads were included to make the platform economically feasible. That required an ad portal, and managing both the ad portal and the platform required admins with elevated access.

The app is a small CloudFlare worker with React Server Components, a light R1 database, and a frontend in NextJS.
