A Python run at Advent of Code 2025 covering days 1 through 6, both parts each, for twelve stars. The commits stop after day 6.
Python, no framework, one file per part: d1.py, d1_p2.py, and so on. Inputs live in inputs/ and are not committed. That is the whole setup.
Day 3 asks, roughly, for the largest 12-digit number that can be formed by picking digits in order from a string. The first attempt nested twelve for loops. It is still in the file, commented out at the top of d3_p2.py. The committed solution is a greedy pass.
Day 6 is a worksheet of "cephalopod math": numbers laid out vertically in columns, with the operator sitting at the bottom of each column block. Part 2 adds that the cephalopods read right to left within each problem, so the whole layout needs reshuffling. The solution transposes columns, finds the operator row, and reverses the order.
The checked-in repository stops after day 6. Source: github.com/EricSpencer00/AoC2025.
